Audi R8 2017 Plus Audio Upgrade

Registered

I have a 2017 R8 Plus with the base sound system. It was fine before I installed an exhaust. Now with the quicksilver exhaust it completely kills all bass from something that was not really that good to begin with.

Is there any suitable upgrade package that’s basically plug n’ play to solve this? As I said I have the lowest spec audio system possible. No Bose.

Please let me know with links to relevant products!

I asked the same thing a few weeks back and no comments. mine has the Audi sound system, only option I regret is the B&O or lack of.

There are numerous options out there (in the UK at least) that will take the car and for approx £5kGBP retrofit the B&O system. I reckon if there were direct replacement speakers I would have a set as in my experience just having decent speakers from a decent manufacturer can make a huge difference.

A retrofit would do it for me. I heard the B&O system is really really good. Do you think this is something that Audi directly offers or only third party people?

You know any speakers that are a direct fit in factory holes and sizes that can be bought and swapped out? From the little I could find about the topic it seems that the issue is speaker depth. Anything besides the OEM stuff will have a hard time fitting because of depth.

I wouldn’t consider myself an audiophile but I for sure appreciate good sound. However majority of the music I listen do (rap, trap rap, rnb) are not really that well mixed and mastered nowadays anyhow and doesn’t sound good on something that produces a pure sound.

In my home I have Sonos everywhere which has great adaption and EQ to any shitty produced track. By my PC I have KRK 8″.

I was very happy with my old C63S 2016 Burmester sound system, is the B&O close to this or better?

Custom sounds like a rough ride of finding someone who knows what they’re doing and someone I can trust with the car.

We listen to different typos of music but frequency ranges are what matters here. Rap/trap etc tend to focus more on low frequencies. I’d say tap into the woofer feed and wire in a powered sub. (That’s the easiest way). That is what I’m planning on doing on my TTRS. They are cheap and easy to wire in

Audio in cars tends ro sound more like AirPods than free standing speakers. The secret to headphones/earphones is their ability to reproduce a wide range of frequencies. Where they fail (for me anyway) is that low frequencies are felt and not only “heard” this you need a proper bigger speaker that will be felt.

at home is a different story. Tons of equipment, fancy wires, isolators etc. but asmy dad told me “all of that is great but if you are not enjoying the music just trying to see how perfect the system is, you are wasting your time”.

get what makes you fell happy!

Any ready to buy form-fitted (atleast as good as possible) subs to buy for the R8? Wasn’t able to find anything myself. Preferably with instructions on where to tap in etc.

Edit: Can technically fit any box or tube behind the seats. More interested in how to wire it up, where to tap for subwoofer feed, where to draw power from.
