  • I have been driving my Audi A3 Berline for a while now, already had some changes done by the Audi dealer, apparently they were also using VCDS instead of VAS since security codes were being asked when we were coding(??).

    I want to accomplish the following:
    The start/stop system should be disabled by default when starting the car, however I still want to have the possibility to switch it back on with the dashboard button since the car is a company car.
    Through the Dutch Audi Forum I have found a way to disable it through changing a voltage parameter. However, according to someone this VCDS mod implicates that the Start/Stop system is completely disabled and can’t be enabled through the button.

    Does anybody have any idea how to accomplish this?

    For reference, the voltage mod to disable SS:
    1. Module 19 (Can Gateway)
    2. Adaption (10)
    3. Go to channel: Start_stop_voltage_limit
    4. Change value to 12.1V ( default is 7.6V)

  • The German company Kufatec do a module which is plugged in to the OBD socket. This disables the Start/Stop as long as it is plugged in, but once removed everything goes back to normal. Here is the link to the UK branch of the company.

    This is the nearest I’ve seen to what you want.

  • Ok, thanks!
    I can’t see what kind of Audi A3 8V and options/gimmicks you have.

    Would be nice if you or somebody else had some time to check these as well (reason why I’m asking this is because I need to be 100% sure that all the things I wrote down are easy to find in the VCDS system, because my aftersales person at my genuine Audi garage is a little ***** who doesn’t want to do anything, however one of the engineers there was very happy to help although that little ***** was lecturing him after he saw he helped me out, so I don’t want the guy to get in trouble and get in and out as quickly as possible ) :

    Getting the option in the MMI system to change the default distance of ACC:
    STG 13 (ACC) auswählen
    STG Zugriffsberechtigung -> Funktion 16
    Zugriffscode 14117 eingeben
    STG Anpassung -> Funktion 10
    5. Option for presetting of time gap
    6. Set to on (active)

    Parking lights (the DRL LED eyebrows of the car) on full brightness instead of being dimmed:
    [09 – Cent. Elect.]*
    [Coding — 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] -> Byte 3: Bit 2 — Change 0 to 1

    LED «eyebrows» on full brightness if the xenon bulb switches on:
    [09 – Cent. Elect.]
    [Security Access — 16] (enter security code. One of the default codes is- 20113)
    [Adaptation — 10] -> Channel 3
    Enter new value for LED brightness i.e. «100» If you want LED’s at 100%.
    Values bellow 5 turns the LED’s off and generates an error code and warning in DIS .

    Don’t let the LED eyebrows dim when you are turning on your turningsignals:
    Select STG 09 (vehicle power)
    STG access authorization -> Function 16
    Enter access code 31347
    STG adjustment -> function 10
    Channel (10) Leuchte2SL VLB10-dimming CD 2 select
    Set value to 100
    Channel (10) Leuchte3SL VRB21-dimming CD 3 to select
    Value set to 100*(default: 30)
