IS IT POSSIBLE?: Auto Lock Doors.

My A3 used to have an Auto Lock feature so if the key fob unlocks the car but no doors open, it’ll lock itself

Is it possible to have this feature coded to the car.

2004 e87 to be precise.

I came back to my car today after my ride home and realised it was unlocked, I have a feeling my spare is squished somewhere doing it because I cannot find them, thank FCUK the windows weren’t all down too

Yep, its a setting, so no coding needed.

Key in, engine off.
Flick the paddle in the left stalk up or down to display SET.
Press the button on the end of the stalk.
Flick the paddle down to display a padlock with the letter A.
Press the button on the end of the stalk.
Use the paddle to select an option:
— Clock with the word ON is what you described.
— Arrow with ON locks automatically when you drive away; you only get car jacked once before you set this option!
— Clock and Arrow with On; I think you get the idea.
— OFF; duh 🙄 .
Press the button on the end of the stalk.

The setting is saved to the key, so if you start to use the other one, dont expect it to behave the same unless you set that one up too. Hope that works in your 2004, does in my 2006.

E87 118d, stock, plus PDC control unit drain, Parrot, debadged, Mothercare baby shades (but no babies), and occassionally a good layer of wax. Instantly forgettable, and thats the way I like it.

Gone (East), but apparently not forgotten.

I’m not sure if you can, the early cars had different software/hardware systems.

I can recall SonicVanMan having fun with his 2005 (trying to get into the Service menu), which took a different sequence compared with my 2006.

Current: Silver F21 M135i — ManBox — HK — Adaptive + Eibach Pro’s — BBS CH-R’s — BMWP Drexler LSD — M4 LCA’s

I’ve fiddled with that setting in both mine and my mums car.

mums car was able to set

  • open one door, with unlock button, then 2 clicks opens all
  • lock on drive off

she has a 2006
