1 Turn Signal problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro

For over a year the radio in the chevy Camaro has been malfunctioning (shutting on and off excessively), this electrical issue affects my vision when driving at night it has currently escalated to preventing turn signal audio therefore I continuously have to check to see if turn signals are working and will not know if they stop working. This is not a stand alone problem with just my Camaro and I have reviewed many owners of Camaros have the same issue. This issue occurs when in motion. Air conditioning and heater is effected at times also.

4 Turn Signal problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro

When I start my vehicle my radio doesn’t turn on right away. The ac control lights flicker on and off. It can vary at times but can be up to 5 minutes on some days. The radio will finally work. But after 20 minutes of driving the radio cuts out and isn’t as loud anymore. I’m also beginning to notice my turn signal is cutting out as well. It’s slowing down. As if the battery is being drained. I notice when u turn off the car almost every time the radio will turn off completely before I open the door. I came across some other people online who had the same issues. Most who believe that the unit behind the radio display needs to be replaced and reprogrammed. Which in my case seems to be the answer. Which is to much problems happening right now. As far as where it’s at now. It could get worse down the road.

5 Turn Signal problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro

I have stock everything on my Camaro. The radio, turn signals, and a/c glitch out all of the time. My radio will randomly glitch out sometimes with a loud noise coming from the speakers and sometimes quiet. I no longer have control of what station to listen to or the volume. Sometimes it happens every couple of minutes and other times every 10 seconds. If the rear defrost is on, the radio has no sound until I turn the rear defrost off. When I hit the brakes, turn on my high/low beams, or use my turn signal, the radio glitches. It also glitches without touching anything in the car what so ever. Also sometimes when I use my turn signals, it make my speaker sound like they are blown with a loud sound that does not stop until I shut the car off, remove the key, and open the door. Sometimes the sound keeps going even after that. The turn signal click sound doesn’t add up to the light flashing anymore. Sometimes the air or heat will not turn on and the lights to that system flash repeatedly/quickly on and off every time the car glitches, door opens or closes, or car gets locked/unlocked. The ignition also tries to keep my key, and my car will not turn completely off until I can get my key from the ignition. I have been stuck trying to get my key out for a few minutes. This is after the ignition recall which did not help in any way possible. The clock has trouble keeping time because of how much it glitches out, and I have also noticed my head lights dim when it does. These problems are only getting worse! it started in December 2018 with just the turn signal making my speakers sound blown and over a matter of a couple of months it has gotten this bad. I’m worried to see what else happens. It needs to be recalled!.

The failure mileage was 36,000. Jft.

7 Turn Signal problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro

The factory radio turns off and on with blinking lights on the radio itself along with the a/c unit shutting down and back up. The turn signal also do not make any sound. Sometimes, if I turn-off the car and pull the key out and back in and crack everthing returns as normal. All the research I’ve done points to the radio. They just replace it with a aftermarket. They do not make my radio any more. Should be a recall on this device.

8 Turn Signal problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro

9 Turn Signal problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Camaro

1997 through 2002 Camaro’s equipped with daytime running lights may experience failures of turn signals. Failures include failure of turn signals to illuminate or failure to blink. Failures may also include premature bulb failure to headlights, turn signals (front and rear), and parking lights. I have encountered numerous vehicles with front and rear turn signal sockets burned/ shorted. The turn signals operate through the daytime running light module and module is prone to failure/ overheat/ shorting causing failure of turn signals. Wiring to dtrl module in dash behind radio is often overheated or burned causing intermittent or complete loss of function to turn signals. Loss of turn signal function can cause accidents and wiring shorts from overheat conditions may lead to in dash fires or isolated fires within exterior lamps. Overheated in dash wiring may cause damage to other systems or components.

10 Turn Signal problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Camaro

Front left turn signal/parking light keeps burning out. Both sides have been replaced with new sockets costing around $400. 00, right after the warranty expired. Since then the left side has gone out 3 more times in the last year costing $45. 00 each time. It is impossble to reach the bulb to replace it yourself. Dealer insists that the parking lens was cracked causing moisture to enter the socket. When insepcting the vehicle, there is no crack. . Now they say its the seal around the parking lens. I just replaced another burnt out bulb 6 weeks ago and it happened again. It also has not rained to cause any moisture in the last 6 weeks.

11 Turn Signal problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Camaro

The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. The left turn signal light burned out and melted the wires. Both of the blinkers burned out one year ago and the dealer replaced both sockets. The current mileage is 76,000, and failure mileage was 70,000.

12 Turn Signal problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Camaro

Left blinker keeps blowing out. I’ve replaced it 5 times in a week and a half. Something is wrong with the electrical system majorly.

13 Turn Signal problem of the 2000 Chevrolet Camaro

There is no specific event that can be tied to this problem. The front indicator housings however have both cracked on two separate occasions. The consequence has been the failure of the indicator system. This has led to the replacement of first the right front indicator housing and now the left front.

14 Turn Signal problem of the 1998 Chevrolet Camaro

Lamp flasher unit failed. Yh.

15 Turn Signal problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Camaro

The Camaro, firebird, corvette, and some gm minivans use the front turn signal lamps for daytime running lamps. When one of these fails, the other bulb is continuously illuminated, which can be miscontrued as a faulty turn signal. Such confusion on the part of other motorists or pedestrians can easily lead to a crash. Suggested course of action: recall all such 1997-2003 vehicles and disconnect drls or rewire drls such that a single bulb outage will extinguish both lamps. The same applies to the gm full size trucks, but to a lesser extent because they use dedicated function white lamps for drls instead of the amber turn signals. Dt.

16 Turn Signal problem of the 1997 Chevrolet Camaro

This is a general observation of the 1997 and newer Camaro and firebird. If a bulb burns out in the turn signal drl system, the remaining bulb can be misinterpreted as a turn signal instead of a drl. I suggest recalling all such vehicles and disconnecting the drls or require the manufacturer to wire such drls in series. I’ve filed a similar comment in docket 4124.
