Most of us? Hmmm. I think most of us wear our seatbelts.

If Chevy made it easy to defeat, they’re open more lawsuits by the families of people who get half ejected from an overturning car (yuck).

Notice how the seatbelt keeps driver’s head from bypassing the airbag . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5GJEx-tQSI

But I digress. old habits die hard.

There is a «Chime Volume» setting buried in DIC Personalization menu on the 2013’s. I think it has only normal or high settings. If yours is set to high maybe going to normal would solve your problem.

You may have to dig out your owners manual to figure out exactly where it is and how to access and change the setting.

To solve the issue of the loud chime, could you simply not cause the chime in the first place? Get in, connect belt, turn key. My guess is you get it, turn key, hear chime, then connect belt.

The only time I ever hear the chime is when one particular passenger gets in my car and doesn’t connect his belt before I turn the key.

I hate the chime.

I detail my car and like the stereo on but the chime has gotta go.

I know I know I should wear the seat belt. But I don’t. And I agree those chimes are LOUD.

I dont know the sequence but I do know that mechanically inside the receiver (female) side of the buckle (it is a touch tricky to get unbolted buried between the seats) if you open it up there is a small copper connector and if you remove it the car thinks you have your seat belt on and the belt chime and light are no more.

Took me 10 minutes start to finish.

I’m so on this project. I wear my seatbelt (being rear ended by a semi traveling 60MPH while stopped in traffic will do that) I just can’t stand that damn chime even if the door is open for 10 seconds.

I just wanna hear the stereo!!

I got a belt cutter.

I’m living proof the odds of a collision are a tad higher than driving off a bridge or pier though. Wear your seatbelt!!
