Dead Body on a Dock
Google Maps Coordinates:52.376556, 5.198306
This grisly scene indicates that somebody in Almere Stad, the Netherlands had a very bad day. The apparently cursed Beatrixpark dock once held an image of someone carrying a corpse to throw into the lake. Now, you can look at the infamous dock and see what appears to be a corpse and a mysterious red marking.
Pentagram in Kazakhstan
Google Maps Coordinates:52.479750, 62.185667
This ominous site in Kazakhstan named ‘Ksi’s Ritual’ (not to be confused with the rapper KSI) indicates a massive pentagram drawn into the dirt. How did it get there, and what dark forces might be behind it? A google search reveals endless pages of Russian writing on the site, but precious few answers.
Big Red Lips in the Desert
Google Maps Coordinates:12.370367, 23.322272
In Arawala, Sudan, a pair of lips in the hills form this eternal frown that deserves a pair of rolling eyes to match. It almost seems like a loving, but also a fed-up god who’s had it up to here with their children.
White Desert Lines
Google Maps Coordinates:40.452107, 93.742118
Outside Dunhuang, Jiuquan, Gansu, China, you can find this collection of white lines in the desert. They start just as abruptly as they begin, and the ends fit almost perfectly inside of a square you might imagine around them. Time has worn away at the lines; but if you can use a program to restore the gaps, who knows what sort of meaning you might find in this imagery?
Iraq’s Bloody Lake
Google Maps Coordinates:33.396133, 44.488064
The Lago Vermelho of Baghdad, Iraq periodically turns a mysterious, deep shade of blood-red. Is it the work of some massive human sacrifice or demonic forces at play? Scientists say it was a species of algae, but I’m sticking to my ‘demonic forces’ theory.
A Face in the Clay
Google Maps Coordinates:50.010489, -110.116906
In the Cypress County oilfields of Canada, you can see what appears to be a side profile of a massive clay face. In particular, it resembles a First Nations warrior in a headdress. He’s known as the Guardian of the Badlands, and one has to wonder if his existence is really only coincidence.
Google Maps Coordinates:32.676128, -117.157685
This unfortunate Navy office supposedly had nothing but practicality in mind when it was designed; however, an aerial view implies that the designers had much more in mind. The set of office buildings clearly resemble a swastika, and the Navy is so embarrassed by it that they’re working to mask the structure via new construction.
Google Maps Coordinates:21.124039, -11.397509
The haunting Richat Structure of Mauritania is an extraordinary sight that excites any imagination. The unnaturally perfect circular lines, the bright-colored rock formations and the decrepit ruins of some long-lost civilization ask questions that might never find an answer.
Desert Breath Pattern
Google Maps Coordinates:27.380421, 33.632085
This mysterious pattern in the Egyptian desert stands astride a major coastal road, but no one has any idea where it’s come from. The spiral pattern seems too perfect to be an accident, but that’s the only certain thing about it.

The Guitar Forest of Cordoba, Argentina is one of the most charming sights you can see on Google Maps. It uses a mixture of different types of trees with purple or green canopies and looks more like a painting than a forest.
Jesus Loves You
Google Maps Coordinates:43.645225, -115.993064
Some Idahoan good samaritan must’ve drawn this kind message in the sand outside Boise for those flying over the state. Either that, or it’s a divine message — depends on your religion, really.
Google Maps Coordinates:51.577718, -1.566620
Outside Dragon Hill and alongside Dragon Road in the United Kingdom, you can see this curious natural(?) formation of white lines in the dirt. They seem to depict a horse, head bowed and running free.
Google Maps Coordinates:50.813674, -2.474947
Outside Dorchester in the United Kingdom, an aerial view will show you the Cerne Giant. It’s a massive, naked caveman carved into the field, bearing a stick in one hand while the other seems outstretched in a friendly wave. Whoever’s responsible for this seems well humored, at the least.
Google Maps Coordinates:37.401397, -116.867843
The state of gambling, aliens, atomic bomb testing and gambling aliens is unsurprisingly a hotbed of the supernatural and extraterrestrial. At this intersection of two country roads, you view the Nevada Circle; a curious design inscribed into the earth, one of both meaning and origins unknown.
Strange Demon-like Figure
Google Maps Coordinates:-19.948881, -69.633631
Someone or something spent many hours assembling this uncanny depiction of a strange, demon-like figure in Chile. It’s complete with horn-like appendages and an angular body that evokes the famous Nazca lines of Peru. My question is, why does it seem to be smiling at me?
Google Maps Coordinates:45.408080, -123.007866
Hidden inside a Hillsboro, Oregon forest, you can see a parked jetliner. I don’t know about you, but forest clearings are the last place I expect to see a jetliner. This is Airplane Home, a discarded plane that a man turned into a functional home with all the modern amenities that you’re to expect from a remote forest abode.
Google Maps Coordinates:-4.289303, 31.396239
One of the simpler sites to appreciate through Google Maps after you’ve seen demons, satanic imagery and murder scenes is this picturesque herd of buffalo. What’s strange about the image is that they seem to exist in a perfectly rectangular clearing.

In the rugged badlands of Arizona, you can see yet another strange natural creation: the impeccably shaped giant triangle. Shipwrecked SS Ayrfield with Trees
Google Maps Coordinates:-33.836379, 151.080506

The wreckage of the SS Ayrfield has degraded terrifically, but it’s become home to a rich foliage cover nonetheless. It’s a beautiful image of life arising from death, the future growing out of the past, nature taking over what humanity has abandoned, or… something like that.
Google Maps Coordinates:41.303921, -81.901693

World’s Biggest Pool
Google Maps Coordinates:-33.350534, -71.653268
This Algarrobo pool in Chile bears the distinction of being the largest pool in the world. However, only a narrow strip of the beach separates it from the ocean. Honestly, the whole thing seems a little redundant to me.

Google Maps Coordinates:51.601043, 4.305859
If the 18th century had memes, one would probably go ‘Friendship ended with square forts: star forts are now my best friend.’ Star forts took over thanks to their deadly interleaving, overlapping fields of fire. Not to mention, they just look a whole lot prettier. This star fort in the Netherlands is a particularly photogenic example.
Google Maps Coordinates:38.483378, -109.681333

Boat-Shaped Shopping Centre
Google Maps Coordinates:22.303931, 114.190183

Google Maps Coordinates:65.476721, -173.511416
This looks like the face of a deeply unamused monkey. Are all of these massive, mysterious faces are actually Lovecraftian Old Gods bound to the Earth? If so, this is certainly the old one who’s really tired of the nonsense the young’uns keep getting up to.
