Good Day Merc Experts.

Can anybody help with the part numbers of the automatic transmission oil seals of 638 vito 110 cdi? ATF are leaking at a.) the side where the shafting is connected and b.) in front of the transmission where the transmission pump is located? or any body here who has any idea where to buy?

put your vin numbers on here and I will look them up asap.

all parts are referenced by vin. vin is NOT a security risk

on 638, it is under flap between right hand front seat and door

first of all. your vin is incomplete, it needs the first 3 letters as they say where and when it was made. also you do not need the hyphens.

whenever ordering parts from mb, give them the full vin eg WDF63819413320226

anyway, I guessed the letters and got the info. its the 2 documents «diff and output shaft picture» and. «parts

the bits you need are 32 and 35. part 35 is the oil seal, part 32 is a spring-wire ring that holds the output shaft in place. it is this ring that has to be overcome in order to remove the output shaft. it needs a heavy thump with a slide hammer to get the shaft out.

I attach other info such as changing the atf fluid and general oil specs.

note. you should only use MB transmission fluid. its NOT the same as ATF from other sources

good luck with it.

I know the problem, well, of getting the right part. I’ve spent many an hour arguing over the right bit and serial.

I’ve been through the data for both you and denalcaraz several times and the info posted is the only info I can find for your vin numbers.

there will only, normally, be 2 parts to replace. the oil seal and the retaining spring.

most oil seals look the same and of the design in the, already, posted parts picture.

the spring wire clip looks just like a piece of bent wire, a couple of mm in diameter. some will say you can re-use it but I’ve seen too many re-installed clips break up and destroy a gearbox. to remove it takes a fair thump of a heavy slide hammer and that will ALWAYS damage it. the choice is «cheap clip» or «new gearbox». obviously they won’t always break-up but for a couple of quid I won’t chance it.

the part numbers are:

Seal A0229977347 snap ring A0029947135. they are the only ones that come up for the autobox differential (its not the gearbox output its the diff output)

I attach your datacard. the details of the original order including all extras but no security information.
