How Patricia Heaton Earned Her Net Worth
Patricia Heaton receives income from movies, television series, television commercials, television and live appearance, book royalties, and money from different investments. When she was playing Debra Barone on ‘Everybody Loves Raymond,’ Patricia earned almost a quarter-of-a-million dollars for every episode.
A prudent lifestyle and wise financial choices have allowed the actress to amass an incredible net worth of $40 million dollars. It seems she will have to be satisfied with this for her retirement because her recent endeavors with Kelsey Grammar have been canceled.
Heaton’s Family Life
Patricia Heaton is from Bay Village Ohio in March of 1962 to a devout Catholic couple (The Hurds). Her mother died when she was just 12 years-old from an aneurysm leaving behind five kids.
Her sister Sharon is a Dominican nun and works as the assistant registrar for the Aquinas College in Nashville, Tennessee. Her other sisters (Frances and Alice) have happy families and her brother Michael is a writer at The Plain Dealer who primarily works on The Plain Dealer’s magazine that’s released every Friday.
Patricia attended Ohio State University and joined the Delta Gamma Sorority house where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama. She soon married a fellow Catholic (Chuck Heaton) who worked as a writer for The Plain Dealer.
However, her marriage to Heaton came to a close. She’s been married again in 1990 to the English actor and director David Hunt. The couple has four sons and they live in England and Los Angeles.
After her divorce from her first husband, she went through a self-described «Protestant wilderness.» Since June 2017, Heaton’s first marriage has been annulled by the Catholic Church and she had returned as an observant of Catholicism
Mrs. Heaton moved to New York City in 1980 for an opportunity to study with drama teaching great, William Esper. Yet, it wasn’t until 1987 that Heaton when she got her big break on Broadway during an appearance in the chorus of ‘Don’t Get God Started’. The production bonded many of the Espers’ students who collaborated to build an off-Broadway acting troupe entitled, ‘Stage Three.’
Graduating to the Smaller Screen
After Stage Three performed in Los Angeles a casting director for the ABC program ‘Thirty Something’ hired her to appear in six episodes as an oncologist from 1989 to 1991. Patricia Heaton went on to other television appearances on Matlock, Party of Five, The King of Queens, Danny Phantom, Room for Two, Women of the House, Room for Two, and Alien Nation.
The actress did have a stab at starring in feature films like Space Jam, Beethoven, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, and The New Age but she didn’t seem to be a box office draw.
Patricia didn’t really find her acting stride until she landed the role of Debra Barone on the hit series ‘Everybody Love Raymond.’ Her portrayal of a shrill and nagging wife led to Prime-time Emmy nominations for seven seasons. Heaton has won two Emmy’s for being an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2000, and 2001.
Patricia has also won two Viewers for Quality Television Awards and a Screen Actors Guild award for her work on ‘Everybody Loves Raymond. Heaton was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May of 2012.
