If you adjust it mechanically does the auto leveling not compensate for this ?

Not sure when I will get it to agents again (although it has full maintenance package)

Since picking up my car I have found that the range for the dipped beam on my bi-xenons was far to short — although the light was lovely and bright I would only be able to see a very short distance ahead. It’s not too much of a problem just now in the summer, but I thought I should get it looked at before we get tto the dark winter nights.

I took the car into the dealers this morning and they confirmed that the auto-adjustment setting for the dipped beam was too low and the used their VAG-COM to reset it at a higher position (it only took them 5 minutes). Hopefully there will be a big difference now, but I’m going to take the car out for a spin on some country roads later tonight to test it out.

From the many posts on this subject it seems to be something that is a bit of a recurring issue with the bi-xenons factory setting. Thankfully it’s straightforward to fix.

Its back to the dealer, and maybe this time say its ok if it a bit high. They tend to set them too low, in a misguided gesture to not blind the oncoming traffic.

The xenon is brighter and reaches farther than standards.
