Battery dead, locked out of car

I have a unique situation on my hands. My battery died overnight (some electrical short) and I need to get in the car in order to open the hood. Normally I manually unlock the driver’s side door with the key and go about my business; however, due to a semi’s attempt to park on top of me a few weeks ago, my door doesn’t open from the outside anymore.

How can I go about entering my car to open the hood, or otherwise supply power to my car so I can use the car remote??

Have you tried a brick yet?

I don’t think you can get in through the trunk.

Haha OMG i feel your pain, but you are lucky you weren’t aired out like i was at the time.

— Jack up the front of your car
— Reach up right behind the rad fans and feel for the latch with cable that is normally pulled from inside the car
— Push said wire/latch towards the drivers side of the car and it will unlatch the first stage then you can open your hood to jump your battery.

Thanks for bringing up old laughs

Quick note for anyone else in this situation.

If anyone has long enough jumper cables, reach under the front of your car and connect the positive to your starter wire and the ground anywhere on ground. should give you power. Much easier if you ask me as well.

Eos 2007 — battery dead, can’t open hood to jump start the car

Hi, I am having the same problem as alwarnecke in this thread and I saw that you helped them with your message :
— Jack up the front of your car
— Reach up right behind the rad fans and feel for the latch with cable that is normally pulled from inside the car
— Push said wire/latch towards the drivers side of the car and it will unlatch the first stage then you can open your hood to jump your battery.
I have an eos 2007 and the battery is completely dead and for some reason my key doesn’t open the door lock.
Following your message I am trying to “Reach up right behind the rad fans and feel for the latch with cable that is normally pulled from inside the car” but I couldn’t find it… Would you mind further detailing how I could find this cable please ?
